      LED lighting fixtures in workplace

      4 Common LED Myths, Debunked

Although the sale of LEDs has largely increased across the UK in recent years, many still have reservations and concerns when it comes to making the switch to LEDs themselves. So, we’ve teamed up with one of our clients who we recently helped move over from fluorescent tubes to LED, to debunk some common misconceptions about this energy-efficient lighting method. Let’s get into it!

      1. LEDs are not energy-efficient.

“I disagree, we have noticed a decrease in our energy bill since installation.” – Goldbury Paint

“Having installed Glodbury’s system just 6months ago, the savings on energy are already rolling in! This is down to LEDs using up to 80% less energy than traditional bulbs, cutting electricity bills down by huge numbers.” – CJ Timms

      2. Switching to LEDs costs a lot.

“When the initial cost is compared to the amount saved and how effective they are, I would say they are worth the cost.” – Goldbury Paint

“It is well known that LED lighting is a larger investment to purchase and install when compared to traditional incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, but the saving in energy usage and therefore costs hugely outweighs the installation cost after a 12-18months” – CJ Timms

      3. LEDs are not bright enough or are too bright and produce poor light quality.

“Strongly disagree. LEDs are the perfect brightness for our factory environment.” Goldbury Paint

“Suitable for any room, LEDs are super flexible and offer a range of light levels and colours. So whether you’re looking for a warmer yellow bulb or a colder more blue look, LEDs can cater to your preferences. Many LED bulbs are dimmable too, so you can tailor your light levels depending on the circumstances.” – CJ Timms

      4. LEDs Need Time to Warm Up.

“This is not really noticeable and never something that we have found to be a problem” – Goldbury Paint

“A major benefit to LEDs is that they take no time at all to warm up, so your LEDs will be bright from the get-go, with no flickering to kick in or dull, insufficient lighting!” – CJ Timms

So, there we have it, LEDs really are as eco-friendly, efficient and cost-effective as they’re made out to be! Still have some questions or concerns?
